Welcome to Terrace Hills Golf Course of Altoona, Iowa

Terrace Hills Golf course is a Third Generation Family Owned and Operated Golf Facility. Joe and Clara Riding purchased the golf course grounds in 1960. After several years of farming the decision was made to build a nine-hole golf course. Joe Riding Sr., along with Clara's tireless support, designed and constructed the original nine holes during the summer of 1963 and spring of 1964. The first rounds were played on July 6th 1964. As golf grew in popularity it became necessary to build another nine holes. In 1968 construction of another nine holes began. Once again Joe and Clara Riding worked many long hours and Terrace Hills Golf Course became an eighteen-hole facility in the fall of 1969.

Joe and Clara's simple mission statement in 1964 was "To provide everyone with a quality golf experience". Many things have changed over the past forty-five years, but one thing has not. The Riding family and the staff at Terrace Hills Golf Course continues to implement this simple statement. "Provide everyone with a quality golf experience regardless of playing ability".

Whether you are looking for a leisurely nine holes, a fun paced eighteen holes, or a wonderful venue for a golf outing, Terrace Hills Golf Course has it all.
